First Home Owner Grant (New Homes) Scheme
The First Home Owner Grant (New Homes) scheme (the Scheme) was established to assist eligible first home owners to purchase a new home or build their home by offering a $10,000 grant.
New Home Grant Scheme
The New South Wales New Home Grant scheme was introduced on 1 July 2012 to stimulate the construction of new homes.
The scheme provides a grant of $5,000 towards the purchase of new homes, homes off the plan and vacant land on which a new home will be built.
First Home Owner Grant
From 1 July 2013, a $10,000 First Home Owner Grant (FHOG) is available when you buy or build your first new home. Your home can be a house, townhouse, apartment, unit or similar, but it must be valued at $750,000 or less and be the first sale of the property as residential premises. It cannot be an investment property or a holiday house.
Duty Cut for eligible first home buyers
Eligible first home buyers who purchase their principal place of residence valued up to $600,000 may also get the benefit of a stamp duty reduction. To be eligible for the duty reduction, the first home buyer must be entitled to receive the First Home Owner Grant and live in the property for a continuous period of 12 months within 12 months of purchasing the property.
A duty reduction of 50% will be phased in over four years, with a 20 per cent cut already in place since 1 July 2011, which will be followed by additional 10 per cent cuts on 1 January 2013, 1 January 2014 and 1 September 2014.
First Home Owners’ Grant
The First Home Owners’ Grant is a Queensland Government initiative to help first home owners to get their new first home sooner. You’ll get $20,000 towards buying or building your new house, unit or townhouse (valued at less than $750,000). You can even buy off the plan or choose to build yourself. It’s a great opportunity to buy or build a new home in our great state.
SRO Launches iPhone Application for First Home Buyers
The State Revenue Office (SRO) has developed Australia’s first iPhone application which allows Victorians to see how much they are eligible to claim in first homebuyer benefits.
The SRO Mobile application – designed by the SRO’s IT specialists – allows first home buyers to access important information while house-hunting.
By downloading the free ‘SRO Mobile’ application from the Apple App Store, you can quickly see if you are eligible to receive the First Home Owner Grant (FHOG), the Victorian Government’s First Home Bonus and the Regional Bonus. The application will also automatically calculate how much you may be eligible to receive from the government.
